electric jetcycle adds carbon-fiber hydrofoils to boat so riders can pedal above the water

E-Jetcycle comes with carbon-fiber hydrofoils

JetCycle rolls out its electric boat with two carbon-fiber hydrofoils and a trimaran hull so water sports fans can cruise above the sea or lake at a stable and secure pace. The E-JetCycle made its debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in 2023 and is set to grace the international boat show, Boot Düsseldorf, from January 20th to 28th, 2024, at Hall 3 – Stand E26. During this event, visitors can check out the design and electric assistance of the paddle boat with hydrofoils and a trimaran hull before taking it out on the water.

Even those who are not into water sports can still cruise above the sea or lake using the E-JetCycle and simply wander around, enjoying the scenery. So far, JetCycle, a French sporting goods manufacturer, states that its recent E-JetCycle is equipped with electric assistance so riders don’t need to paddle as much or exert extra effort. It comes with a long-lasting battery that can provide up to three hours of autonomy, and the electric paddle boat offers stability due to its trimaran hull on the side and attached hydrofoils. Unlike the wobbly and languid paddle boat, the E-JetCycle cruises like a bike but on water.

Electric paddle boat featuring steering handle

JetCycle says its electric paddle boat also features a steering handle and an incidence lever that controls the watercraft and its flight altitude. The company also shares that its two floats on the side with foils help the E-JetCycle remain stable in water and during flight. The pedal system is adjustable so it can fit well with the rider’s size and make them feel at ease throughout the above-water ride.

Since it is equipped with an electric motor, the France-made E-JetCycle is dubbed environmentally friendly by producing no noise and emissions. No slipping is allowed during the flight and ride, so JetCycle opts for a nautical leather bucket seat with premium pads and non-slip surfaces to offer both comfort and control to the rider.

Before the introduction of the E-JetCycle, the French sporting goods manufacturer introduced its JetCycle MAX, which is a boat with pedals and foils that can fly on the water at speeds of up to 20 km/h. In this version, a 100 percent manual transmission is installed, so when the rider pedals, the effort is transferred to the propeller using a drivetrain that travels inside the keel. Its patented propulsion, a variable pitch propeller developed at USMB, ensures high efficiency throughout the system’s speed range.
