Eccentrica Lamborghini diablo restored

Emanuel Colombini of Eccentrica Cars and design studio BorromeodeSilva restores classic 1990s Lamborghini Diablo hypercar into a retro-futuristic vehicle with a 3D-printed titanium body. Produced in just 19 custom models, the restomod – or a classic car that has been restored – Lamborghini Diablo borrows its revamped design cues from the sporty Diablo GTR, fitting its entirety with an appeal to loyal Lamborghini and custom-car fans. For the restomod, Emanuel Colombini and BorromeodeSilva overhaul the bodywork of the donor car except for the windshield.

The Eccentrica hypercar’s proportions have been redesigned to bring out its aggressive look and adapt its handling and stability to present technology and demands. Its glistening body is created with titanium using 3D printing technology to ensure lightness, rigidity, and a more robust build for the Eccentrica hypercar, and a feature that Emanuel Colombini and BorromeodeSilva want to spotlight spring through the pop-down headlights which give the revamped Lamborghini Diablo the deserved retro-futuristic style. The international debut of the restored hypercar recently made its way to the Goodwood Festival of Speed from July 13th to 16th, 2023.

Changing interiors of the restomod Lamborghini Diablo

The restomod Lamborghini Diablo’s interior was designed to be a meeting point between the minimalism of the early 1990s and the present mechanics of luxury watchmaking. Emanuel Colombini and BorromeodeSilva transform the steering wheel and dashboard with a more modern visual to provide the driver more comfort, intuitive and safe driving. The now deep-blue seats have also been changed to improve their looks and ergonomics.

For the upholstery, a complex blend of materials such as leather and Alcantara was used to offer lightness, breathability, and grip, and the center tunnel and internal door trim are constructed of the same materials, all sourced and made in Italy. Even the driving start has been created as an authentic ritual to be enjoyed to the end; a sequence that nods to 1990s video games and cult films such as ‘Top Gun’.

Eccentrica hypercar develops speed and engine

For the technical development of the Eccentrica Lamborghini Diablo, Emanuel Colombini and BorromeodeSilva have tapped engineering experts to fit the restored hypercar with Pirelli tires, Brembo braking system, Marantz audio system, and Capristo exhaust system. Once the technical development has been completed, Eccentrica will be a street-legal vehicle that can also be driven in racetracks if the driver and owner wish.

The design team says that in its first virtual simulations, the restored Lamborghini Diablo performs like a real hyper car with acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds, a top speed of 335 km/h, and a lateral acceleration in curves of 1.2g. The original 5.7-liter V12 engine has been modified to include technical enhancements such as new valves and camshafts, resulting in a modest increase in maximum power 550 HP at 7,000 rpm and maximum torque 600 Nm at 6,5000 rpm.

Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires, which are ideal track tires for road use, are the go-to choice for restored hypercar, and the braking system designed by Brembo includes a system that will allow the finished vehicle to brake from 100 Km/h to 0 in just 34 meters, i.e., 7 meters less compared to the original model. The Eccentrica Lamborghini Diablo will also swing by at Monterey Car Week in August, New York in September, and Miami in October.
