facebook announced on thursday that they had discovered a ‘bug’ which causing millions of status updates to be posted publicly. the technical error made the suggested audience ‘public’ as opposed to the previous audience setting. according to facebook this effected 14 million users, between may 18 and may 27, according to facebook.

 

 

according to an interview with recode, facebook said the millions of users affected, and that whose posts were made public incorrectly will be notified. facebook says it has changed the settings of individual posts shared during the ten-day period back to the users’ original preferences but of course, they can’t do anything about the time during which they were made public.
