the ‘H4D-40 ferrari edition‘ by swedish cameramakers hasselblad is a limited-production camera bearing the new ferrari ‘rosso fuoco’ colour and cavallino rampante icon. the 40-megapixel camera is sold in a sealed glass-topped box also marked with the ferrari logo. first announced in 2010, the camera has just been released for purchase.

with a 3-inch colour display screen and top camera grip LCD for shooting information, special features of the camera itself include an electronic level (in both viewfinder and LCD display) for alignment; and hasselblad’s ‘digital lens correction”, ‘natural colour solution’, and ultra-focus’ optimization systems. users can shoot with a custom hasselblad raw file format (openable in apple and adobe imaging interfaces): 3F RAW (.3FR) for lossless image compression at 33%.

the ‘H4D’ shoots between ISO 100 and 1600, with a shutter speed range from 1/800 of a second to 256 seconds (4 minutes, 16 seconds).

‘global image locator’ tags all outdoor images with GP coordinates, time, and altitude, and can be synced directly with google earth.

  • I thought ferrari products where for the average small man that has no money and wants to buy into company image (remember the ferrari acer laptop).
If you have 32.000,-euros to spend on a camera one wouldn’t think you would behave like a 12 year old – but then again, why does formula 1 exist.
