fido motor’s electric scooter features a 2.5-kWh lithium battery that can be removed from the floorboard and taken into the user’s home, where it can be fully recharged in three hours. the motor, which peaks at an equivalent of six horsepower (4.5 kW), is integrated with the rear wheel, removing the need for messy chains and sprockets. this combination powers the electric scooter for 40 miles (64 km) per charge, reaching top speed at 45 mph (72 km/h). according to the michigan-based manufacturer it pulls away from traffic lights like a 200 cc, or 250 cc, naturally-aspirated bike.
