google makes salad emoji vegan by removing the egg in a bid to be more inclusive

google has removed the egg from its salad emoji in a bid to be more inclusive for vegans. a user experience manager for google made the announcement via her twitter account on wednesday sending a few people into array.

 

 

 

the android p beta 2 software update is due to come out this summer, along with a a bunch of other changes to emojis. the move as the unicode consortium, which chooses and creates new emojis launched 157 new icons this week including ginger, silver, and curly-haired people. google announcement its software will include these icons.

 

 

 

the alteration fuelled an online debate between twitter users arguing wether eggs were vegan or not. daniel later clarified: ‘just want to clarify that the goal of salad emoji redesign was to create an image more faithful to unicode’s description. ‘a bowl of healthy salad, containing lettuce, tomato, and other salad items such as cucumber’ bon appetite!’.
