following its popular HC1 model introduced in 2017, happier camper now presents a new lightweight trailer known as the ‘traveler’. the 2021 iteration seeks to offer the comforts of home with versatile interior layout options including dual sleeping areas. at 17 feet (5.2m) long with a dry weight of 1,800 lbs./816 kg (and loaded weight of 2,500 lbs./1,134 kg), the traveler is the lightest trailer in its class and can be towed by a wide range of vehicles, including lighter class SUV, crossovers, and station wagons.

the happier camper traveler features a spacious 6’5” (196 cm) interior height alongside a 6’5” (196 cm) bed. the airy open cabin design also can feature a rear living space that includes up to a full-sized bed alongside a front stationed queen-sized bed. amenities include a shower and a sink as well as a dry flush toilet. meanwhile, the kitchenette is equipped with a dual burner stove, sink, and a DC-powered drawer fridge. the cabin also includes mood lighting, power outlets, and cooling options.

the traveler also allows clients to choose from a variety of different layout configurations, including a bunk bed/couch option that can accommodate friends or family, or a mobile office for those that want to stay connected with work. ‘one of the best parts is that our adaptiv™ system allows clients to conveniently change the interior layout of their traveler trailer cabin space trip-to-trip in minutes without expensive upgrades or installation,’ says happier camper founder derek may. ‘now, more than ever before, people are exploring the vast beauty around them through the great tradition of the road trip.’

the adaptiv™ system consists of an ultra-strong honeycomb fiberglass floor combined with heavy-duty (yet lightweight) molded plastic pieces that allow users to change their cabin layout as needed. the same system can also be used to expand storage, seating, cooking, and sleeping quarters. available in shades such as pacific blue, bishop red, topanga turquoise, and mojave sage, each trailer is manufactured with a special handcrafted fiberglass double hull shell for optimal protection and insulation in colder temperatures. the 2021 traveler has a starting price of $49,950 USD.
