at IFA 2017 in berlin, germany, panasonic unveils the smart ‘SC-GA10’ hi-fi speaker that is set to challenge the likes of the amazon ‘echo’, apple ‘homepod’, and google ‘home’. coincidentally being the world’s first to have google assistant built-in, the smart home gadget uses this system to stream music, control other compatible devices, and answer questions about the weather all with a simple voice command. as well as its internet of things technology, it excels with high-quality audio. two 20mm soft dome tweeters at the front are designed with a silk diaphragm which opens at a 45° angle. this, along with a long port back bass reflex system, delivers a full 180° range with a wide, smooth, and expansive sound effect.

with its world premier at IFA 2017, the panasonic ‘SC-GA10’ is bluetooth, WI-FI, aux cord, and app-controlled meaning the electronic can always be worked. all this advanced technology is packed within a compact form. with a sleek aluminum case combined with a fine, fabric mesh overlay, the speaker’s modern design enables it to complement every interior. its unobtrusiveness is key to this appearance. different material finishes, as well as either black or white colors for the fabric overlay, ensure the user can customize the device as they wish, whether that is to stand out or blend in with the room.

with google assistant, it supports major music streaming apps including spotify, google play music, and tune-in radio

through bluetooth and WI-FI connections, the speaker offers a seamless experience with other smart devices
