koenigsegg is officially the marque with the world’s fastest production car, the ‘agera RS’ – the same hypercar that smashed the bugattichiron’s‘ 0 – 249 mph (0 – 400 km/h) record by over five seconds.

in july 2017, a 1,360bhp koenigsegg ‘agera RS’ shot from 0 – 249mph in just 36.44 seconds. during the same weekend, the very same ‘agera’ managed to shave off a few seconds, achieving a record of 33.29 s. the hypercar managed an average top speed of 277.87 mph (447.19 km/h) over two runs, meaning it is now the fastest production car ever. the sprint from 0 – 249 mph bit was covered off in 24 seconds flat, while braking back down to zero took a further 9.29 s over 499.3 metres.
