the ‘kuna’ smart security combines a 720p HD camera with an outdoor light in order to act as a break-in prevention solution. the product drops-in to replace existing wall-lamp fixtures, and uses the same wiring and wall mounting. with wifi and bluetooth 4.0 connection, the device lets the home owner answer the door with their phone’s app, from anywhere, at any time. potential burglars can be scared off as the users receive real-time notifications with live video footage and can respond with a push-to-talk button or remote sound alarm.

the cast aluminium ‘kuna’ is available in either a craftsman, traditional or contemporary design style, and in black or bronze color versions. it combines computer vision with IR motion sensing to filter out false alarms such as swaying trees and small animals, and also recognizes different movement patterns to identify if someone is leaving or arriving. the gadget’s app enables the house occupants to set the timer and motion activated light modes, as well as record pre-selected messages. the siren, light, camera fitted and wifi connected ‘kuna’ is seeking funding via its indiegogo campaign.
