LAYER’s AI assistants emerge as biometric earbud, wearable camera, smartphone and battery

personal AI assistants by LAYER from earbud to camera

LAYER introduces the concept Personal Intelligent Assistant (PiA), a set of personal AI gadgets that see, sense, listen, and communicate with the user and their surroundings. It comes with a smartphone, a biometric earbud, and a modular and wearable camera module from the back of the phone. When users wear the camera and earbud, the personal AI assistants serve as the ‘eyes and ears’ of the users. They collect and analyze data from their surroundings. An artificial intelligence-based operating system powers them up so they can process and relay the information.

These personal AI assistants by LAYER are not just earbuds and a camera. The former has sensors on the pulse point of the inner ear. They allow the devices to track the user’s body temperature, heart rate, and other biometric information. After that, the AI assistant can offer them suggestions on what they can do to improve or maintain their healthy lifestyle through the smartphone. The latter, the camera, detaches from the smartphone and can double as a pin or brooch. It lets LAYER’s personal AI assistants see what the user sees, so they can help them with identifying a product, telling them about the landscape’s history, and more.

Smartphone made of recycled glass

LAYER’s concept Personal Intelligent Assistant series isn’t complete without the smartphone. There’s no news yet on its specs, but so far, the creative agency says it is composed of recycled glass. It can operate with or without the modular camera and battery connected. If they’re not attached, the device is lightweight and ultra-slim. The smartphone shares the collected data from the other personal AI assistants by LAYER because they’re connected to it. It features apps related to the biometric earbud and wearable camera module, including one that tells users how they can sleep better and customized activity coaching.

It also comes with a navigation augmented by real-life video footage overlaid on a map. Users can also book hotels and flights as well as events based on learned preferences by LAYER’s personal AI assistants. So far, the smartphone has an edge-to-edge display so users can also enjoy wide-screen mode as they watch movies or scroll through social media. The creative agency partners with Complete Fabrication, one of the UK’s leading prototypers and model makers, for their personal AI assistants. There’s no news yet on when the first prototype is set to come out.
