dubbed ‘back to the future’, this custom motorcycle depicts the future of bike brand, yamaha. frenchman ludovic lazareth and his studio are no strangers to creating insane-looking vehicle’s, such as the bike built around a maserati V8 engine, or the car fused with a motorcycle. the french designer has now modified a 1999 yamaha ‘YZF R1’ motorcycle into this extroverted café racer.

the lazareth ‘back to the future’ motorcycle was first customized by ludovic to be filmed on set of the vin diesel film ‘babylon A.D.’ about  ten years ago. during the past year he has brought his ‘ex-movie star’ out of retirement, and transformed it into a futuristic interpretation of the road bike. with zero restrictions on the build specification, the ‘back to the future’ was clad completely in carbon fiber. it features a reflective carbon fiber fuel-tank, while its original yamaha ‘YZF R1’ frame remains.

the custom motorcycle sits on a pair of triumph ‘955 IN’ 17-inch diameter wheels, while its swingarms are mated to TFX suspension absorbers for added comfort. a pair of high-quality brembo brakes provide smooth deceleration, while an upgraded floating-link suspension-system now offers a smoother ride. the single pipe exhaust protruding from the motorcycle’s back sits surrounded by LEDs that act as rear, and brake lights. and in true movie star-spirit, every other refinement is custom moulded from carbon fiber.

  • “Now for something totally different.” 90% of what’s posted here looks like contestants from; ‘Only the parts you can buy in 30 minutes.’ program ..or, “My grandfather made something like this.”

I’d strip those silly fenders off and add a safer taillight, but it is truly compelling.

  • Doesn’t seem to be clear how the hub center/centre steering works. Doesn’t look like the BiMota setup.
