in 2014, when maserati was celebrating its 100 year anniversary at the geneva motor show, the italian marque debuted the ‘alfiericoncept car, a two-seater coupe that matched its dynamic styling with exhilarating performance. now, four years later, the design has been confirmed to go into full production, with rumors speculating this to start in 2022. as the model heads into mass-manufacture, its V8 engine will be ditched in favor for both hybrid and electrification variants.

the all-electric, all-wheel production maserati ‘alfieri’ promises to perform as highly as the concept speculated. it will accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in less than two seconds and continue to a top speed of beyond 186 mph. this kind of electric propulsion is comparable to the upcoming rimac ‘C-two‘ and highly regarded tesla ‘roadster‘.

as yet another welcomed announcement for those who loved the ‘alfieri’ concept on its unveiling back in 2014, maserati has also confirmed that they are working on a convertible version as well. this will combine a soft top with the car’s sculpted sportiness, which pairs a long, low nose with a defined shoulder and distinctively cut rear. the body, as expected, will be manufactured from an aluminum spaceframe in order to meet its demands of high quality, support and low weight.
