joining the super and ultimate series to complete a three tier range, the McLaren ‘570S coupe’ introduces the british manufacturer’s new sports series, as it makes its global debut at the new york auto show. offering race-derived technologies and design values to a different segment and audience, the pure sportscar features a 3.8-liter V8 twin turbo engine, made from 30% original components, providing a power output of 569 hp (570PS) that accelerates it from 0-62 mph (100km/h) in 3.2 seconds and to a top speed of 204 mph (328 km/h). combing this, as well as how it generates 600 Nm of torque, with a dry load of just 1,313 kg (2,895 lbs), it has a power-to-weight ratio of 427 hp per tonne. this capability is delivered through a seven-speed SSG transmission to its rear wheels, and can be controlled using the standard-fit carbon ceramic brakes.

the new model shares its DNA with the McLaren super and ultimate series

as mentioned previously, its impressive power-to-weight ratio is achieved thanks to its low dry density of just 1,313 kg (2,895 lbs). this is accomplished through a lightweight construction, enhancing a unique carbon fiber MonoCell II chassis that is strong, stiff and intended for a greater focus on day-to-day usability. its ‘shrinkwrapped’, aerodynamically-optimized form also adds to its low load, comprising of carbon fiber and aluminum body panels. sculpted by air, the McLaren ‘570S coupe’ has a striking appearance that is highlighted by details such as the rear flying buttresses that increase downforce, and the complex door tendons which channels additional air to cool the mid-mounted motor. as well as this, its aerodynamic package includes aero blades below the front bumper, large ultra bright LED headlamps and a sculpted bonnet that directs flow over the front wheel-arches. moving further back, the automobile has a teardrop-shaped glasshouse, moving air over the shoulderline and across the deck in order to aid heat release and improving downforce.

for a car that reaches over 200 mph, it has a low fuel economy of 25.5mpg and emissions of 258g/km

with independent adaptive dampers including front and rear anti-rollbars, and dual wishbones, the newly-developed suspension system ensures improved levels of driver engagement and refinement on both the road and the track. also aiding the versatile driving experience, the handling settings; normal, sport and track, enables the user to switch between its many focuses when desired. the interior continues the car’s aim to provide high performance racing alongside day-to-day use, with a clear focus on engagement, visibility, functionality, comfort and space. its leather upholstered seats which matches the trimmed dashboard and steering wheel, offers comfort and support for long distance traveling. furthermore, with a full infotainment system, sitting on a floating center console, that includes; a TFT digital instrument cluster, a seven-inch IRIS touchscreen and bluetooth connectivity, showcases the brand’s use of advanced technologies.
