nokia and intel are collaborating on a new open-source mobile operating system called meego. this new platform is linux based and was recently launched for the aava phone and the nokia n900. the collaboration aims to combine the work of intel and nokia to create a new development platform to compete with android and webos.  while it is shown here in a mobile context, meego is also being developed for netbooks, televisions, in-vehicle applications and a full range of other communications devices. meego aims to capture the common user requirements among these devices by focusing on communications, application and internet services.
