mercedes-amg and cigarette racing's 12th special edition boat

cruising along the intracoastal waterways, the latest mercedes-AMG and cigarette racing collaboration premiers at the miami international boat show 2020. it marks the 12th collaboration between the two brands, this time not only including a water vehicle but also a unique G-wagon car. the two share the same design principles: high-performance, luxurious and exclusive.

‘mercedes-AMG stands for performance luxury. the tirranna AMG edition is the perfect transfer of this principle to a boat: its’ dynamic and at the same time deeply sensual proportions embody athletic beauty. in its powerful, clean look, the boldness of the mercedes-AMG G 63 can be experienced,‘ says gorden wagener, chief design officer daimler AG.

the 59’ tirranna AMG edition boat strikes a perfect balance luxury yachting and high-performance racing. every detail was considered in its pursuit of excellence, from its lightweight construction to reducing the vertical center of gravity for better handling. elements, such as the raked hardtop, stringers and transom, are made from carbon fiber whereas the hull and deck are infused from an optimized composite laminate. the results deliver a water vehicle with extreme agility, which is enhanced further thanks to a unique gyrostabilizer that decreases roll by 80%. six supercharged 4.6 liter V8 mercury racing 450R outboard engines – producing 450 hp and 2,700 hp in total – pushes it to a top speed of 80 mph.

fitting up to 26 people, the boat combines style and spaciousness with the performance, too. its exterior is colored in a black metallic finish with a golden AMG diamond pattern added on the sides. a rounded stainless steel grab rail continuous runs around the whole boat, from the beige and dark blue leathered cabin to the expansive summer kitchen outside. the latter includes an aft with a grill, sink, food prep station and storage for outdoor dining. inside, the lower level welcomes guests to a large sofa with a cabinet, which conceals a fridge, extra storage and the TV, before following into a bedroom equipped with a californian king size bed and contained bathroom.

a one-off mercedes-AMG G 63 cigarette edition has also been created, sharing the same design principles as the cigarette racing boat. it enhances a 585 hp 4.0 liter V8 biturbo engine in combination with the rear-biased all-wheel drive with three differential locks. perfected for off- and on-road, the AMG ride control suspension works fully automatically to dampen each wheel.

exclusiveness is apparent in all aspects of the car, from its exterior through to its cabin inside. like the boat, its body is painted in black metallic with the golden AMG diamond pattern. new 22’ cross-spoke forged wheels gold accents line the wheel center caps and rim flange. the design also benefits from an AMG night package elements, dark chrome AMG specific radiator grille, and side entry boards to add to its special image. the interior also matches the interior of the boat, supporting a beige and dark blue color theme just with nappa leather upholstery instead. a carbon fiber steering wheel and unique floor mats finish off the G-wagon.
