Sporty, smooth silver sculpture

A monolithic sculpture defines the Mercedes Vision AMG. Its flowing, aerodynamically advantageous teardrop form hints to that of the VISION EQXX. A clean-surfaced body accentuates its efficiency as joints and shut lines are reduced to a minimum. A long wheelbase, sharply raked A-pillar positioned far forward, a short front overhang and slightly longer rear overhang set its radical proportions. There’s a low-lying silhouette as the roof tapers elegantly rearwards into a spoiler, where a broad, muscular shoulders add to its distinct sports car-look.

‘The Vision AMG shows in spectacular style what electrification could look like at Mercedes-AMG, while staying true to the brand aesthetic. The study’s extreme proportions create fascination and passion for performance – that’s what AMG is all about. The Vision AMG is an impressive embodiment of the brand’s dual polarity – the interplay of beauty and the extraordinary. Up front, the car is instantly recognizable as an AMG; the brand-specific grille time-travels into the future with illuminated, vertical bars on the sharply chiselled shark nose. On either side, the striking headlamp signatures take the form of the stylized Mercedes star, connected visually via a horizontal band of light that shoots across above the grille. The rear spoiler’s thin edge is framed by another precisely cut stripe of LED. Below, three cylindrical tube-like rings of light contrast with the deep black diffusers.

Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Design cues

The sports car is revealed as a four-door coupe, subtle owing to its super smooth surfaces. Alubeam silver paintwork bathes the whole exterior body, stretching in a large-format star pattern across the shoulders, rear and side windows. The color – a reference to the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team – further hints to the high-performance nature of the car. The Petronas blue continues to visually accent the design: the exposed carbon fiber, 22-inch wheels, AMG logo and elements on sills and diffuser.
