set to be unveiled at the 2015 mobile world congress, the LG ‘watch urbane’ is suited for sophisticated and cosmopolitan wearers who desire a stylish yet high-technological smartwatch. the all-metal luxury device, fitted with a stainless steel body that is available in either polished silver or a gold finish, features a complementing leather strap that enhances its overall classic appearance. it follows on from the electronic company’s ‘watch R‘, but has a more formal look, suitable for either men or women, thanks to its thinner profile.

‘the LG watch urbane’s classic design and smart features make it the perfect smartwatch to complement our G watch and G watch R, which were designed as more casual and active devices,’ said juno cho, president and CEO of LG electronics mobile communications company. ‘LG watch urbane is an important part of our strategy to develop wearable devices that are worn and viewed as everyday accessories, not electronic gadgets.’

with a thinner form, the timepiece is suitable for both men and women

similarly to the previous timepiece, the LG ‘watch urbane’ has a full circular plastic OLED display, powered by its 410mAh battery, that provides an intuitive touch-based user interface which is compatible with phones running android 4.3 or higher. as well as its dust and water resistance rating of IP67, the watch also includes a photoplethysmography sensor that can measure the wearer’s heart rate, showing that it is designed for active users too.
