microsoft has announced kin, a windows phone designed for active and social users that ties into online services. the phone is being released in partner ship with verizon in the us and vodaphone in europe and the hardware manufacturer sharp. social networking is the main focus on the phone, which comes in two models, the square format kin one and rectangular kin two. both models have slide out keyboards touchscreen displays and built-in cameras. the kin loop is the phone’s homescreen, showing the user up to date info from all their contacts. this information is culled from applications like twitter, facebook and other online networks. the phone separates itself form competitors with the kin studio online application that hosts all the information created on the phone online. this allows users to more easily use and share images, videos and text created using their phone
