MINI cooper SD 5 boasts additional passenger space at paris motor show

the MINI ‘cooper SD 5’ is the latest addition to the british premium brand’s now eight car family and is the first five door model in their 55-year history. its wheelbase has been extended by 72 millimeters creating the space needed for two additional doors and more room for the occupants and luggage. the storage compartment is now 30% larger than the regular cooper, with a volume of 278 liters and can be expanded further to 941 liters when the rear backrest is folded. by facilitating entry to the back, three passengers can travel more comfortably than in previous models.

the ‘cooper SD 5’ provides a spacious way of experiencing the company’s hallmark driving fun and individual style. these traditional qualities are demonstrated with the choice of six different engines, all offering either three or four cylinders or twinpower turbo technology. these manufacture an output range from 70 kW/95 hp to 141 kW/192 hp, whilst producing low fuel consumption figures between 5.9 – 3.5 1/100km. similarly to their other vehicles, it works in conjunction with a harmonized suspension system in order to ensure unmistakable dynamic enjoyment. all these new, versatile elements will be on exhibition at the 2014 paris motor show where its optimized display and operating concept features will also be shown.
