presented ahead of the north american international auto show in detroit, MINI has taken the wraps off the john cooper works concept. based on the latest-generation MINI cooper which launched last month in london, the specially tuned go-kart-like ride features exclusive body paintwork, signature red color accents throughout, custom aerodynamic components and bespoke 18-inch alloy wheels. in addition to having a longer wheelbase and wider track stance over its predecessor, the new JCW boasts an improved aerodynamic package, which incorporates a large air intake and precisely sculpted air-channels at the front, specially contoured side skirts and a rear apron equipped with flaps and a diffuser at its tail. the concept also features a roof spoiler and additional body components designed to channel air efficiently around the C-pillars for optimized aerodynamic balance at high speeds.
