Stark releases Varg SM, a modular electric supermoto motorbike that lets riders perform wheelies on hills, streets, and roads legally. Designed with rising peaks on the front and rear and a triangular frame, the team removes the front radiators and exhaust of the two-wheeler to improve the ride’s handling and control. There’s a 3D ripple pattern placed inside the bodywork to reduce the ride’s weight, plus it is easy for the riders to change and swap the removable bodywork since there are only seven bolts they need to unscrew. A 24-karat gold Stark Future logo sits on top of the electric motorbike’s top section, which is made from carbon fiber alongside the front subframe.

The front spoiler and the seat unit contain the funnel for airflow to the battery, motor, and radiator located under the seat, and for the suspension, there are three stock settings available that the riders can choose, depending on their weight and skill level. If they want a faster ride, they can opt for one setting higher, allowing them to professionally perform wheelies that are up to their drift. Going down, riders can take a look at the footpegs, cast and machined in a special stainless steel blend. The company says it is lighter than most aftermarket titanium offerings, but the star of the show is its design, which resembles steel traps with its jagged, teeth-like style.

Compact and portable charger fits in the rider’s backpack

The design team is proud to highlight the electric motorbike Varg SM’s rear axle and swingarm, which for them feature two new innovations. The first is the chain adjuster, which uses a spring and shaft at every 90 degrees rotation for audible click feedback. Instead of using a hex driver or two wrenches, the riders can just turn the same number of clicks on each side to align the wheel with chain tension. There’s also the flush rear axle design, which removes all nuts and bolts that can potentially catch on ruts, dirt, or rocks when the riders perform wheelies.

The electric motorbike Varg SM comes with fully CNC-machined aluminum wheel hubs and aerospace-grade rims to complete the tires, and this material is also present in the handlebars, equipped with soft compound grips so the riders’ grip doesn’t slip while performing wheelies and during cruising. Within the thumb’s reach is the aluminum map switch that allows the riders to switch between the power modes. For the electric motorbike Varg SM, a portable charger is included with a fast-charging plug for a standard 220V power socket and 3.3 kW of charging power. The team says it is so compact that the user can just stash it in their backpack and bring it anywhere.

Stark installs the motor in water-cooled aluminum case

Specs-wise, the electric motorbike Varg SM by Stark uses a motor with a power output of 80 horsepower and a total weight of only nine kilograms. It produces 275 newton-meters of torque on the countershaft and 978 newton-meters on the rear wheel, and the motor operates at 360 nominal volts and maintains over 95% efficiency across most of its power range. The motor is also built with a carbon fiber sleeve and is enclosed in a water-cooled aluminum casing. The inverter, which controls power flow between the battery and the motor, is built directly into the motor casing. Stark Future developed a new inverter system for this project, described as the smallest in the world for power levels between 50 and 100 kilowatts. During development, the company tested the motorcycle with professional motocross riders and compared it with the existing models in the industry.

The team says that the testing process helped them optimize the chassis design and control its flex for a stable and predictable ride. The electric motorbike Varg SM’s frame is made from tubular chromoly steel, the same frame used in both the motocross version (VARG MX) and the supermoto version (VARG SM). The SM version modifies suspension geometry, spring rates, and travel to suit road and track riding. The subframe is made from aluminum using straight tubular pipes connected by forged joints, which includes integrated lift handles to help move or position the motorcycle easily. The ride’s center of gravity is positioned low, near the rider’s legs, and this placement helps distribute weight evenly. Stark plans to deliver the electric motorbike Varg SM starting January 2026.
