leaked images claiming to show the unannounced new version of the motorola RAZR have surfaced online. the renders are a first look at the smartphone’s design outside of a patent and line up directly with the patent images we reported on earlier this year.

the images appeared online in a now-deleted post on weibo before being reuploaded to slashleaks. if real they appear to confirm its folding design. they also show a wireless charging station and range of accessories, all of which fit into a triangular box.

according to the wall street journal’s original report, the phone will cost $1,500 when it is eventually released. with a hefty price tag like that, and given samsung’s issues with it’s folding galaxy phone, motorola will want to be extra careful before launching it to the general public.

samsung was the first major player to market with the galaxy fold but a handful of units failed in the first days with journalists reporting breakages. samsung quickly postponed the launch and recalled all the review units.
