the new york public library brings classic literature to instagram stories

the new york public library introduces ‘insta novels’, its new initiative with which instagram users can read classic literature through the app’s stories. the feature was launched with part 1 of a newly digitized version of lewis carroll’s alice’s adventures in wonderland, and as more stories are added, the NYPL aims to turn the account’s highlights  into a digital bookshelf.

insta novels is created in collaboration with independent advertising and creative agency mother in new york, while it launched yesterday on the library’s instagram account. in the coming months, another two literary works will be released, the yellow wallpaper, a short story by charlotte perkins gilman illustrated by buck, and franz kafka’s metamorphosis, illustrated by césar pelizer. alice’s adventures in wonderland, which is illustrated by magoz, is currently available on the NYPL’s instagram account, in the highlights section titled ‘alice part 1’.
