nike and Hyperice’s wearable approach to post-training recovery

 

NIKE and Hyperice collaborate on the NIKE Air Zoom Hyperslide, a recovery-focused slide that integrates heat and vibration therapy directly into everyday footwear. Developed through the companies’ ongoing partnership (find designboom’s previous coverage here), the wearable combines NIKE’s Air Zoom cushioning with Hyperice’s recovery technology, giving athletes and everyday users an easy way to integrate post-exercise care into their daily routines.

A removable Hyperslide Pod, magnetically housed within the adjustable upper strap, delivers three levels of heat, reaching up to 47°C (117°F), alongside three vibration intensities that run through 15-minute recovery sessions. Users can adjust settings directly on the pod or connect it to the Hyperice app for additional control.

 

Beneath the foot, NIKE incorporates a full-length, low-profile Air Zoom sole intended to provide soft, responsive cushioning during everyday use. While the vibration and heat are concentrated across the top of the foot, the Air Zoom platform supports walking comfort, allowing the slide to function as both recovery equipment and casual footwear.

The Air Zoom Hyperslide points to a broader shift in sports design, where recovery is no longer treated as an activity separate from training. By embedding heat and vibration technology into a wearable slide, Nike and Hyperice explore how recovery tools can become part of everyday movement without requiring dedicated equipment.

The concept draws on Hyperice’s Venom line of heated vibration products, translating technologies commonly found in portable recovery devices into a wearable format. According to the designers at NIKE, development involved feedback from both elite and recreational athletes, who pointed to the combination of cushioning, heat, and vibration as a practical addition to their post-training routines.

 

The Air Zoom Hyperslide follows the release of the NIKE x Hyperice Hyperboot, marking the second product developed through the partnership between the two companies. Together, the projects signal an ongoing effort to integrate recovery technologies more directly into performance apparel and footwear. The NIKE Air Zoom Hyperslide will launch globally beginning September 29th, 2026, through NIKE, Hyperice, and select retail partners.
