everyone wants that perfect night’s sleep, but does anyone actually wake up fully rested? well, at CES 2018, the launch of the nokia ‘sleep’ tries to make this dream a regular and fully achievable possibility for all. the advanced, under-the-mattress sensor seamlessly delivers personalized sleep analysis to its mobile ‘health mate’ app and the ‘steel HR’ activity tracking watch. as well as being compatible with amazon alexa, the system offers smart home control through IFTTT integration so that lights, temperature, sound and more can be customized for the perfect sleeping setting.

our vision is to help make the world a healthier place and quality of sleep is as critical a component of a healthy lifestyle as regular exercise and a balanced diet,‘ said rob le bras-brown, head of nokia’s digital health business. ‘nokia sleep gives users insight into what happens when their eyes are closed along with the ability to change the environment for more restorative sleep with IFTTT home automation capabilities. nokia sleep will be a game changer in helping maximize a night’s sleep to make the most of the next day.’

a rose gold edition of the ‘steel HR’ activity tracking watch has also been announced

with sleep deficiency linked to an increased risk of heart disease, high blood pressure and strokes, sleep quality is a key factor in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. as such, it is not just the insight into the quality of the sleep experience that is important, but also the ability of the nokia ‘sleep’ to create an optimal rest environment. the wifi enabled pad reacts and learns the user’s sleeping pattern to adjust the lights and thermostats in tune with their schedule. their sleeping performance, so to say, is communicated through the app, which also educates them on how they can improve night after night.
