interdisciplinary studio neue werkstatt has sent designboom images of their latest design collection; the ‘NW3’ wooden speaker series. working together in close collaboration with local craftsmen and businesses, the system utilizes a dynamic chassis and components from danish audio company peerless, providing natural HIFI in a system that can be used in almost any context. the housing is made in a small german carpenters workshop using sustainably harvested pine wood, making the set ideal for high-end acoustic applications. to enhance fidelity, the interior insulation is made of natural wool, delivering powerful and accurate highs, mids and lows. in addition, the exterior is stained with solvent-free color pigments and protected with natural wax; the perforated front guards receiving a powder-coated finish to assure clean audio.
