Users can remember where they met someone on people app

Hidden Spectrum introduces People, an iPhone app that helps users remember when, where, and how they met everyone in their contacts. It saves the location where users met the person. It also lets them add brief notes and descriptions so the next time they open the app, they know who the contact is. The People comes with a lock screen control as well. This lets the users quickly add a new event where they saw the person. The app can also automatically pull up the current event using GPS location, so the users can jot down more names.

So far, the app, which is set to launch its beta version on January 28th, 2025, is only available on iOS. No news yet on its arrival on Android. Once the iPhone users get their hands on it, they can sync their contacts with the People app instead of starting from scratch. Then, they can edit each person with their descriptions, so the users remember who they are. The developer gives a heads-up that all data stored in People only exists on the users’ iPhone devices and private iCloud storage. The team is not going to use or collect them out of the app.

iPhone users get the beta version first

Once the users are on the ‘edit’ page of the People App, they can add tags with emojis to identify them. They can put ‘good friends,’ ‘family,’ ‘partner,’ etc. as an ID. Then, they can include their social media accounts to further recall them on their iPhones, as well as their emails and relations with other people on the contact list. The latter is a feature to keep an eye out for because users can see who they’re mutual friends are with other people using the People app.

The developer adds a Favorites tab, so users can easily call and text those they want to add to this list. There are also subtabs in case not everyone makes it to the Favorites. These can range from Family and Business to Romance and Dating. On the users’ iPhone lock screen, they can see the People app at a glance, with the names and tags of some contacts. Other features include allowing users to archive a contact instead of deleting them and sorting the contacts on their iPhone by recently and previously added and deleted. So far, the People App has closed its beta version for January 28th, 2025. The app expects an official release in February 2025 for iPhone models.
