at the paris boat show 2017, the peugeot ‘sea drive’ concept envisions what if the french automotive brand tried their hand at naval design. in partnership with global leisure craft expert, BENETEAU, the concept combines the ergonomics of the i-cockpit, featured in their SUV class, with their collaborator’s connected ship control technology. the result illustrates a unique yet highly stylish and functional way of creating a boat’s steering station.

the peugeot ‘sea drive’ concept features an interior comprising of a compact steering wheel for easier, more agile handling, a large 17-inch touchscreen that displays the ship control interface for access to the boat’s electronic functions, a folding panel for displaying main navigational information, and toggle switches on either side of the wheel for direct access to the vehicle’s controls. apart from its technological features, the design includes the build quality of the automotive brand. leather seats and dashboard details are complemented with a variety of other sophisticated materials, such as light timber, copper and chrome.

 

with the inclusion of the BENETEAU’s ship control technology, the ‘sea drive’ concept is supported by advanced navigation and on-board comfort assistance. the system can be inter-connected to several tablets and smartphones so that all crew members have access. furthermore, the technology allows complete central control over on-board lighting, air conditioning, navigation, battery and fuel level checks, electrical and bilge pump management. this enables the user to have easily and effortlessly manage all aspects of their boating experience.
