the windbreaker wearing, fannypack-toting, 90s aficionados got to them first; both of polaroid originals’ 90s-era promotions — jazz red and fresh blue — are fresh out of stock. it’s a bummer, but don’t get too hurt about it; die-hard nostalgia-seekers aren’t missing out on much, just already-classic cameras with some fun new colorways.

the fresh blue ’96 cam is equipped with all the polaroid 600 essentials: a close-up lens, a lighten/darken slider, and flash. the jazz red has the same tech treatment. the only difference between the two is the breed of 90s aesthetic that they rep. they’re both very 1996. but when I see the yellows and pinks and shaky geometric patterns on that fresh blue, I can’t help but yearn for the dirty old converse all stars in the back of my closet. unfortunately, it doesn’t really matter. they’re both sold out. polaroid originals always has something cool going on. you may have to stalk their page in order to catch anything before they’re gone.
