real-life tesla cybertruck is finally here along with three models and their delivery timeline

Tesla begins cybertruck delivery

After months-long delays, Tesla Cybertruck began its deliveries on December 1st, 2023. It was initially announced during the Cybertruck Delivery Event on November 29th, 2023, where Elon Musk presented the Cybertruck, highlighting features of the upcoming geometric car and the introduction of its three models. Tesla claims that the Cybertruck, an electric vehicle, is faster than a sports car and, depending on the model, can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 2.6 seconds with a tri-motor variant.

Tesla Cybertruck has reopened its pool of pre-orders, and fans can reserve their real-life model for 250 USD. They can choose between one of the three models: Rear-Wheel Drive, available in 2025; All-Wheel Drive, coming out in 2024; and Cyberbeast, also shipping in 2024 (learn more about these models below). On November 30th, 2023, Elon Musk posted the Tesla Cybertruck’s production line on his page, showcasing the real-life models of the anticipated car. As of publishing the story, there are still no clear dates of the delivery, just the year per model.

Bulletproof armor glass for the exterior

Alongside the start of Tesla Cybertruck’s deliveries, the company has also unveiled the full specs of its models. As a base, the Cybertrucks feature a dubbed ultra-hard stainless steel exoskeleton and shatter-resistant armor glass. In fact, Tesla published a test video featuring a man shooting the Cybertruck with a .45 Caliber, and the bullets just dent the car without penetrating it. Tesla claims that the Cybertruck can withstand fewer dents, less damage, long-term non-corrosion, and easy repairs given the materials employed.

An acoustic glass is also placed for the interior of the Cybertruck to make the cabin free from external noises. With Tesla’s deliveries beginning, the new owners can enjoy its steer-by-wire and rear steering. The car company explains it in a post as giving the driver ‘the handling of a sports car, a better turning radius than most sedans, and incredible stability and maneuverability for a full-size truck.’ Storage may also be plenty with its 6 x 4 trunk bed, which can be ample enough for 4 x 8 construction materials should the driver want to bring or transport them.

The Tesla Cybertruck delivery also foresees the installation of an 18.5-inch touchscreen in front of the driver and front passenger while a 9.4-inch touchscreen is up and ready for the passengers in the back of the truck. Fifteen speakers with two dedicated subwoofers and distributed amplifiers are expected to boost the studio-quality audio and sounds of the Cybertruck, and a built-in hospital-grade HEPA filter also comes installed to purify the air inside.

A skim through the specs of the three models can inform the owners of their speed differences. The Rear-Wheel Drive, currently priced at 49,890 USD, can give the drivers an estimated 250 miles of range and a zero to 60 miles per hour speed in 6.5 seconds. The All-Wheel-Drive, currently priced at 68,890 USD, may be faster as it can accelerate from zero to 60 miles per hour in 4.1 seconds. It is expected to have an estimated 340 miles of range, 112 miles per hour top speed, 600 horsepower, and 11,000 pounds of towing capacity.

The Cyberbeast comes next, currently priced at 96,390 USD, with an estimated 320 miles of range, 130 miles per hour top speed, and 845 horsepower, boosting its capabilities to accelerate from zero to 60 miles per hour in just 2.6 seconds. Its towing capacity is also up to 11,000 pounds like the All-Wheel-Drive. A fully refundable $250 reservation fee is needed before new owners of Tesla Cybertruck can expect the delivery of their own chosen model, and all eyes on Tesla on whether or not the delivery will remain consistent given the previous setbacks it encountered with the production.
