looking like a mixture of the futuristic honda ‘e‘ and the vintage-inspired fiat 500 ‘spiaggina‘, the renault ‘e-plein air’ concept car is another retro masterpiece. in fact, the model is inspired by the brand’s ‘4L plein air’ model with a few modern changes, most notably an electric vehicle powertrain.

on show at 10th renault 4L international festival from july 19-21, the renault ‘e-plein air’ enhances the 6.1 kWh battery of the two-seater ‘twizy’ beneath its white geometric bodywork. two new blue seats are fitted inside, along with a picnic basket, and a contemporary dashboard features a dial for displaying its battery charge levels. created as a joint project between renault classic, renault design and melun rétro passion, it is still unknown whether the concept car will ever been put into production.

  • I want one. Please put into production, with an optional roof of some sort, in case it rains, knowing of course that there will be less and less if that around….

    Mary Ellen Kelleher says:
  • These retro designs are great to look at and I truly love the look and aesthetic of the vintage designs – a simpler time to drive and really see the world, but the post Nader safety world will never let a wheel touch the road with a licence plate.

    andrew a says:
  • Put a little blue striped top with a fringe on it and sell it to resorts for rental use to tourists.
