depending on the needs of the driver, the renault MORPHOZ can configure – and transform – with two different modes: the city mode, and the travel mode. the city mode, at 4.40m length, is most convenient for day-to-day commuting or shopping. meanwhile, the travel mode, which expands the length of the car to 4.80 meters, is able to accommodate added capacity for long distance journeys.

the interior of the vehicle showcases a greater sense of space with an enhanced user interface and minimal dashboard. the driver’s seat comes with a digital instrument panel composed of an L-shaped OLED screen. furthermore, the finishes available for the MORPHOZ include a selection of recycled materials, such as wood for the dashboard, plastic for inner doors, and fabric for the seats — with all materials produced by socially responsible companies.

the MORPHOZ is designed to have a major role in reducing carbon footprints, and advocates the movement towards an electric ecosystem. when not active on the road, the dual-functional batteries of the car can be used to power appliances or local areas using smart charging devices and V2G (vehicle to grid) bi-directional technology.

‘with its system of battery stations, it can play a role in creating energy self-sufficiency in city neighbourhoods,’ states groupe renault. ‘unused batteries deposited in the stations can power infrastructures, buildings and services. they store renewable energy and help to smooth out peaks in demand by returning it when needed. this battery sharing also means fewer need to be produced.’

combining artificial intelligence (AI), connectivity and other clever features, the MORPHOZ provides a safe, calm and welcoming experience for its passengers. fitted with level 3 autonomy, the concept enhances road safety by removing human error by almost 90%; the system also allows the driver to release the steering wheel and hand over control of the vehicle.
