how would you stand out in the current crop of mega yachts without going big? this conundrum motivated the ‘antithesis’, an anti-yacht envisioned by indian designer rishi soman. ‘antithesis’ questions conventional yacht design through a rethought and reinterpreted architecture and floating volume. the monolithic and monochromatic proposal doesn’t spare on luxury, equipping the yacht with amenities like a pool and its own heliport.

influenced by modern architecture, the antithesis yacht by rishi soman features an extensive patio that opens to the sea. the elevated monolithic volume houses the living area and an all-glass bridge. a black all carbon-fibre hull with a reverse bow contradicts traditional yacht design featuring white hulls. an elevated infinity pool above the patio is shaded by the elevated living area. the proposed project serves the purpose of exploring new possibilities in yacht design.
