italian based motorbike workshop rustom has been working hard for over three years and for the first time has decided to build a special bike to sell. the design team wants to celebrate the italian motorcycle engineering and its famous brand moto guzzi. therefore, rustom has bought a brand-new moto guzzi V9 bobber 2017 and began to study it, reading opinions, driving it and trying to understand the real soul of this motorbike.

after a couple of weeks, the italian workshop has decided to build a different special motorbike, more like an official special model and not ‘only’ a concept show bike. that’s why it took more than 200 hours of work to build a complete plug & play kit without modifying any part of the original chassis, brackets and components. the result is an old-style custom bike – a nostalgic memory of the glorious V7 ambassador and california — with a modern touch, no chrome, hi-tech components and modern specs with a classic elegant look. This 57 HP motorbike reaches 190 km/h maximum speed with more than 400 km of fuel autonomy. its price tag is 28.000 euros, including all original parts.

the ‘key’ of rustom’s project is the paintwork. the design team has spent one year looking for the original italian old banknotes — lira italiana, from 1921 to 2002. it has been used as a decoupage of the central stripe of the motorbike, protecting them with 10 layers of special transparent paint coating. the result is unique and testifies that italian handmade, history and traditions are not forgotten. there are still young italians believing in their country, with passion for handcraft and a real love for engines.
