samsung and oculus collaborate to create an immersive mobile virtual reality experience with the ‘gear VR’ headset which was presented at the IFA 2014. it incorporates the 5.7 inch quad HD super AMOLED display of the galaxy note 4 by clipping the smartphone into the wearable technology. this screen offers an optical lens 96° field of view that shows engaging visuals at a high frame rate of 60 fps. gaming, films and 360° videos can be enjoyed thanks to the oculus-driven computer mechanics that has formed new ways of consuming cell content.

the 198(W) x 116(L) x 90mm (H) gadget is built with soft, flexible cushioning and lightweight materials so is comfortable for the user to wear. the device is also completely wireless meaning people can fully engage in the indirect worlds without being connected to a computer. available from 2014, the frost white ‘gear VR’ uses accelerator, gyrometer, magnetic and proximity sensors for interaction and includes a touch pad, back button and volume key.
