seems like CES 2018 has showcased a lot of robots that follow you around; first we had the autonomous suitcase and now we have segway’s loomo. previously presented in 2016 as an advanced personal robot, segway robots has launched the loomo robot – a smart machine that transforms from mini personal transporter into an intelligent robot.

coming soon in early 2018, loomo by segway robotics is your personal robot. complete with intel realsense camera that enables depth-seeing, face recognition and person tracking, the robot can follow you around and help you with your daily chores. you can give it orders from anywhere in the room and its artificial intelligence will make sure it learns about you and what you would like it to do. it can also take pictures, do surveillance and joke around.

but that’s not all. when you don’t want your personal robot to be friendly, help you and follow you – you can use it as a hoverboard. it has a self-balancing base that provides a fun riding experience and can handle up to 100KG (200 lbs) payload. the robot runs android, providing six powerful services to build more skills into it.
