speech-enabled senic COVI doubles as interior light and smart home hub

with the senic COVI, elegant interior lighting merges with smart home technology. the speech-enabled lighting design blends perfectly into modern homes with a clean-shaped aesthetic and open-source capabilities. supporting services like amazon alexa, it connects with other smart devices to enable automation. it does so by seamlessly integrating with any ecosystem with an open API (application programming interface), using bluetooth, bluetooth low energy and WIFI to work.

inside its sand-blasted glass shell and aluminum base, the senic ‘COVI’ enhances a powerful quad core computer that enables its advanced functions. as well as as amazon alexa, it can integrate with other services such as sonos, hue and nest. this, as well as its rule engine, allows users to trigger events on their smart devices based on specific times, inputs and commands. this means that you can customize daily routines, such as waking up in the morning to your favorite playlist. additionally, the smart home hub sets to natural circadian cycles and adapts its lighting and brightness accordingly, and also to certain activities.

the ‘COVI’ smart home hub designed by senic, a Y combinator-backed hardware and software startup in berlin, is currently seeking funding here via the crowd-sourcing platform kickstarter.
