snapmaker hosts 5th anniversary with virtual party, high 5 challenge & sale

in celebration of its 5th anniversary, digital manufacturing company snapmaker is hosting virtual creative coronations themed with ‘make it happen’ from august to october, 2021, to share 3D-printing and cutting milestones over these years, most notably the 3-in-1 snapmaker 2.0. a special interactive website enables creators to explore an interesting series of online events to win prizes, including limited edition gift boxes, global anniversary discount sales, and an all-digital party.

tina touli collaborated to create an artwork inspired by snapmaker’s theme of the anniversary, ‘make it happen’

snapmaker has collaborated with tina touli, a london-based creative director and multidisciplinary graphic communication designer specialized in print and digital design, to create two pieces of artwork.

the first artwork has been inspired by the theme of the anniversary campaign itself, ‘make it happen’. an abstract paper sculpture represents ‘a drop of creativity’ as it spreads and expands. the theme’s message has been printed on it, realized with the help of the snapmaker 2.0 laser cutting function.

the second artwork has a dual meaning. it depicts the letter ‘S’, standing for snapmaker, while also reading as the number ‘5’ for the exact anniversary of the digital manufacturing company. wooden layers of the letter/number act as a literal representation of snapmaker’s history and creativity, as they have been cut using the snapmaker 2.0 laser cutting function too. each piece has been painted to shape the final composition.

starting from august 12, 2021, the high five challenge aims to encourage users around the globe to keep in touch online, as the world becomes physically disconnected and face-to-face engagements become rare in the COVID-19 pandemic. by posting a high five picture and greetings with the required hashtags on social media platforms, participants can connect with people across the world. snapmaker will then put the photos together to make a remote high five happen.

the event has driven high engagement on social media platforms so far with daily posts ranging from hilarious to personal, such as cats lying on the laptop, a 3D-printed groot from the guardians of the galaxy film series, and even a stuffed shark toy getting involved.
