sony introduces an impressive addition to their full-frame mirrorless camera line-up, the α7 III (model ILCE-7M3). the camera boasts a 24.2 MP sensor, internal 4K HDR video capability and ‘the longest rated battery life of any mirrorless camera thanks to its Z series battery’.

the A7 III features an updated version of the sony’s bionz X image processor. it shoots stills at up to 10 frames per second in RAW or JPEG with a buffer of 177 images for JPEGs, 89 images in compressed RAW, and 40 images in uncompressed RAW.

 

it also shoots in 4K HDR video, as well as 120 frames per second high speed footage at 1080p, and can capture cinematic S-Log 2 and 3 color profiles. sony claims that the a7iii will have the best battery life in a mirrorless digital camera, allowing the camera to capture up to 710 shots on a single battery. be prepared to part with $1,999 (that’s for the body) in april when it goes on sale in the US or as a kit with FE 28‑70 mm F3.5‑5.6 lens for $2,200.
