russian architect sergei tchoban (along with partner sergei kuznetsov) of SPEECH techoban / kuznetsov have presented their latest installation titled ‘towninbox’. a fragment of the russian pavillion ‘i-city’ – which was shown during the 2012 architecture biennale – is reconfigured intoa unique space, measuring roughly the size of a living room. the intervention is offset by the complexity of decorative polished illuminated steel plates and engraved QR-codes scattered through-out, where the user obtains information of the project by scanning the graphic-pattern using smartphones or tablets. once revealed, the material selection and data about a future masterplan for the moscow region becomes available.
