this helmet provides a better protection for both professional and amateur cyclists

‘ventoux cycling helmet‘ has come from the questioning, how to improve cyclists protection considering different needs requested by this activity, from leisure to professional use. developed by studio accent, this product is made to offer better protection in a light and compact format adaptable to every bike uses — from cycling specialist to urban amateur and children in a learning phase.

to improve its facial protection based on four points on top of the helmet, the architecture of this concept is bigger on the back of the head to integrate the fixation system behind the ears of the user. this part goes lower than in other road cycling helmets to give more protection for mountain biking or a casual road riding.

in case of impact, the design tones down forces and reduces the head movement thanks to its four points of fixation that performs at different positions of the head. the back air release shape follows the mechanical architecture for the face protection for better resistance.

  • It seems this is just a prototype and there isn’t even a Kickstarter option. Maybe I’m missing the point but I’m interested yet it seems like a design project, not a commercial effort.

  • I might have to look this up. I have a ‘bubblehead’ – this looks cooler and more purposeful. Good one. (just don’t price like we are all vested in Google)

    Jimmy Xi says:
  • Better protection through the addition of a face guard and more protection at the back of the head (the weakest part of the head), but what are the impact stats?
Current helmets offer very little, if any, protection in a high-speed accident or collision with a motorised vehicle, so does this address that issue?
