the ‘traft’ combines a tent with a watercraft, letting fishing enthusiasts relax on rivers sheltered from the elements while offering a place to sleep at night. packrafts are lightweight, inflatable boats that are frequently used by backpackers exploring remote areas. they have the unique ability to deflate to a tiny footprint and can be transported in a backpack before reaching the riverside, where it can inflated almost instantly for use on the water. the ‘traft’ is based upon this concept, with the addition of a built-in tent.

composed of tough TPA materials, the ‘traft‘ is currently available in a 96-inch model and weighs 8 pounds, and a larger 102-inch model is slated for release. for people who already own a packraft, the tentraft designers also plan on offering a retro-fit kit that will allows paddlers to add a tent to their existing watercrafts. the kit fits all rafts measuring 95 – 104 inches in length and can even work with most stand-up paddleboards.

the tent acts as a complimentary piece of the raft and can be added or removed with ease. when in place, it offers protection from the sun, rain, and wind throughout the day, keeping people comfortable while out on the water. it can also be used as a shelter to sleep in during extended packrafting expeditions. simply pull the raft up onto the shore, make sure the interior is dry, add a sleeping bag, and you have a camping tent complete with an inflatable mattress. the tent can be detached while on land, and serves as a shelter completely independently of the watercraft.
