italian watch brand unimatic taps the talents of japanese designer mihara yasuhiro to create the limited edition ‘uno U1-MY’ model. the entire run is limited to 99 pieces with each watch individually numbered, combining the experimental nature of the italian watch brand with yasuhiro’s blurring of sportswear with high fashion.

the modello uno U1-MY features unimatic‘s first cerakote-coated case with a stonewashed distressed finish. cerakote is a thin film ceramic coating technology which enhances a number of physical performance properties including abrasion/wear resistance, corrosion resistance, chemical resistance, impact strength, and hardness. the chosen color palette hybridizes different shades of blues, paying homage to mihara yasuhiro’s design codes.

the watch features a horween leather strap that is finished in italy, an additional fabric strap, a 120-click mono-directional bezel, and an automatic seiko NH35A movement with a 41-hour power reserve. the caseback features unimatic’s classic conversion scale overlapped by mihara yasuhiro’s branding, the small writing in kanji (JDM japanese domestic market) is an homage to the land of the rising sun.
