turning one of the oldest ways of training into a piece of advanced technology, VHOOP is not just a hula hoop, but is — according to its designers — the fitness device that does it all. maybe your not good at recalling all your exercises? or the additional layer of impressive digitisation is motivational? VHOOP ticks both boxes and remembers your exercises, counting the number of revolutions you’ve done with your hoop, whilst looking like a prop from some futuristic movie.

connecting via bluetooth, the VHOOP‘s iphone app shows the achievements of the user — once you finish your training, you’re able to see the amount of calories you’ve burned, the training duration, and both clockwise and counter-clockwise revolutions. and if you need more motivation to exercise, the app’s ‘leaderboard’ tab will let you know how your friends and people around the world perform with VHOOP.

the device is easily transportable because of its design. the hoop consists of eight pieces which can be taken apart and put in a bag, and in its entirety only weighs 1.6 kg and is 1 meter in diameter when assembled.

looks like this thing is doing pretty good on indiegogo — aiming at $10,000, the creators have already raised more than $15,000. VHOOP is only available for pre-order now with a price starting from $79.
