volkswagen has revealed the ‘taigun’, their latest concept during the 2012 sao paulo international motor show in brazil. powered with a new 1.0-liter, the three-cylinder turbocharged engine producing 108 horsepower and maximum torque of 129 lb-ft, the vehicle reaches a top-speed of 186 km/h (115 mph), attaining attaining 0-62mph (0-100km/hr) in 9.2 seconds.

featuring a six-speed manual gearbox with direct fuel injection and a turbocharging system, the new SUV consumes an estimate  of 4.7 liters per 100 km (60.1 mpg). based off a front wheel drive new small family platform (NSF) used on the ‘volkswagen up!’,  the exterior measures 3860mm long and 1730mm wide, smaller than VW’s current tiguan and touareg models. included are 17 inch alloys and 280L of trunk space, that can be increased to 987L when the rear seats are folded down.
