palari group, a development company, and mighty buildings, a 3D-printing construction technology company, have announced the development of the world’s first neighborhood of 3D-printed zero net energy homes in rancho mirage, california. the 5-acre parcel will feature 15 eco-friendly homes built utilizing the 3D-printed panelized mighty kit system by mighty buildings.

the world’s first 3D-printed neighborhood will be a $15 million sustainable development centered around the integration of technology and sustainability. from the 3D-printing production process which eliminates 99% of construction waste, to the efficiency of operations with solar energy and weather-resistant materials, to the efficiency of the homes themselves, the project aims to minimize its environmental impact and offer smart and healthy homes to sustainability-minded buyers.

the 3D-printed homes will be constructed in mid-century modern architecture style, will span over 1,450 square feet and will comprise 3 bedrooms, 2 baths. a secondary residence of 700 square feet will house 2 bedrooms and one bath. featuring textured exterior stone walls and floor-to-ceiling windows, the properties will complement their natural surroundings, sited on large 10,000 square feet lots complete with a backyard and a swimming pool with deck and views of the surrounding mountains with plenty of space for lounging and desert star-gazing.
