yves béhar‘s design studio fuseproject has once again teamed up with hive, this time to create the company’s first smart external cameraadopting the look and feel of the cube-shaped indoor camera released earlier this year, the hive view outdoor maintains its compact and elegant form whilst adding a little extra security and robustness.

the camera features live HD streaming, automatic night vision, and comes element-proof, equipped to face changing weather and element patterns. the hive view outdoor is about the size of a tennis ball and made from the same PCABS plastic as its indoor counterpart. it also has a history roll that stores recorded videos for later viewing, whilst maintaining the glass camera front and circular LED array that displays when the camera cycles though its modes.

the camera attaches to an arm that pairs with the back of the camera via magnets, making it not only easy to setup and install but also easily adjustable. the stand is made out of the same PCABS plastic as the camera body and has a simple metal insert that allows the magnet inside the camera to easy and securely attach. the mounting plate is similarly fuss-free and installed using screws.

as the camera is only attached magnetically, the design team has incorporated several anti-theft features to ensure it remains intact. the arm and mounting bracket have a channel that allows the power cord to discreetly and easily reach the camera through the wall. additionally, the device comes with a key that allows the power cord to be locked into place.
