american rock band OK GO amazes again with the latest in their line of entertainingly creative music videos. the quartet has delivered some impressive visuals in past OK GO music video hits: choreographing an entire routine using treadmills, floating around in zero gravity, and now 567 printers make an ever-changing multicolored backdrop for the group in their latest video, ‘obsession’.

the video is a collaboration with paper company double a and has so far reached more than 2.9 million views in its first 48 hours online before being delayed in its publishing due to the site’s auto hd function causing some problems. digital artist daito manabe conceived and designed the project known as ‘paper mapping’ using double a paper whilst illustrator, karen singh, provided the artwork.

because of the huge scale of the printers, we only have one-time shoot,’ the band explained.it has been a trial and error process to make perfect synchronizing system.’ directed by band member damian kulash, jr. & yusuke tanaka, the video was shot in one take over five days and took more than two years to complete, from initial concept to release.
