located near the lanqiao clubhouse, covered earlier by designboom here, local studio HHD_FUN‘s ‘pedestrian’ bridge spans 45 meters over a river in rizhao. steel tubes grow out of the bank converging at their highest point in the middle of the walkway, inclined towards the center axis. smaller members branch off connecting the two sides while slender string-like cords stretch to the deck. the underside is parametrically designed to efficiently take all the loads, covered in metal panels that create a minimalist feel facing the water, being anchored in the concrete embankments.
